Before getting down to business you need to download  VMware Player and of course Windows 8 ISO. Microsoft provides a 90-day trial for Windows 8 that is currently available to download, but if you have another Windows 8 ISO available you can use that instead. This how-to covers general guidelines that are valid for any Windows 8 version and requires VMware Player to be installed beforehand.
To install Windows 8 from VMware Player follow the next steps:

1. Open VMware Player and select "Create a New Virtual Machine".
2. Select "Installer disc image file (iso) and click "Browse" then navigate to the location where Windows 8 ISO is downloaded/located, select it and click "Open".
3. Click Next and insert the "Windows product key" if you have one; if you don't have one just leave the fields empty and click "Next" and validate the prompt.
4. Type a new name for "Virtual machine name" or leave it as is.
5. Select the location of the virtual machine and make sure you have at least 16GB for the 32-bit Windows 8 and 20GB for the 64-bit Windows 8 free space in the selected location -- 30GB is better to avoid running out of free space.
6. Select "Store virtual disk as a single file" to keep the virtual HDD in a single file and optimize performance then click "Next".
7. At the next screen click on "Customize Hardware..." go to "Memory" -- Microsoft recommends a minimum of 1GB for 32-bit Windows 8 and 2GB for 64-bit Windows 8, but you should double the minimum requirements for a smoother operation.
8. At the "Processors" dialog box select the "Number of processor cores" available for your CPU.
9. Click "Close" then "Finish" to complete the virtual machine creation process and install Windows 8.

You will be offered a prompt for "VMware Tools for Windows 2000 and later" where you must click "Download and Install." If there are any devices that can be attached to the virtual machine VMware Player will notify you during the install process.
After the process is completed you are able to use Windows 8 in VMware Player.

Windows 8’s release has been widely anticipated because it’s Microsoft’s most dramatic overhaul of the operating system in at least 17 years. It’s also coming out at a time when PC sales have been slowing as more people rely on smartphones and tablets to surf the Web.
Microsoft Corp. reprogrammed Windows 8 so it looks and works more like the touch-based systems on mobile devices. The three new Windows 8 desktops from Samsung will come with a high-definition touch display.
Several other major PC makers are expected to unveil their Windows 8 product lines in the upcoming weeks.
Samsung Electronics Co.’s Windows 8 computers for the desktop will have suggested prices of $749, $1,099 and $1,699 — depending on the size of the storage drive, the amount of system memory and the size of display screen.
All three models will run on Intel Corp. processors.
Windows 8 can be controlled by swiping the applications on the display screen or by using a keyboard or computer mouse.
The touch controls will be available through a mosaic of tiles to show applications and services that can be continuously connected to the Internet.
When relying on a keyboard, users will usually switch to a part of the operating system that looks much like earlier versions of Windows. However, Microsoft left out the familiar “start” button typically found in the bottom left corner of the display screen.
In an effort to minimize the potential frustration caused by Windows 8’s new look, Samsung built its own optional start button that be used to pull up a menu of applications. This feature won’t be found on all Windows 8 PCs and laptops from other manufacturers.
Samsung is expected to introduce its Windows 8 line of laptop computers later this week.

 SAN FRANCISCO — Samsung will offer three different choices to people interested in buying a desktop computer equipped with a redesigned version of Windows going on sale this fall.
The personal computers previewed Tuesday by Samsung at a technology conference in Germany provided one of the first glimpses at the Windows 8 machines scheduled to hit the market on Oct. 26.

 韓国外交通商省報道官は２９日、李明博（イ・ミョンバク）大統領の竹島上陸に抗議する決議を参議院が採択したことについて「日本帝国主義による植民地侵略を清算する意思がないことを示すものだ」と批判する論評を発表した。
　論評はさらに、李大統領による天皇陛下への謝罪要求について「趣旨と背景を説明したのに、日本側が問題にし続ける真意を理解できない」と述べた。
　一方、報道官は同日、慰安婦問題に関連して「日本の一部の指導者が被害者の苦痛と国際社会の厳しい指摘に背を向け、日本政府が認めた慰安婦動員の強制性まで否定するのは時代の流れに逆らう行為だ」と批判する声明を出した。

Emergency management officials in low-lying Plaquemines Parish reported the overtopping of the 8 or 9 foot (2.4 or 2.7 metre) high levee between the Braithwaite and White Ditch districts southeast of New Orleans.

Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser said about 2,000 residents of the area had been ordered to evacuate but only about half were confirmed to have gotten out before Isaac brought driving winds and rain beginning late on Tuesday.

"On the east bank right now, we have reports of people on their roofs and attics and 12 to 14 foot (3.6-4.2 meters) of water (in their homes)," Nungesser told CNN.

"This storm has delivered more of a punch than people thought," he added.

It was not immediately clear how many people may have been stranded in the area, as torrential rain and hurricane-force winds prevented a full-scale search.
